 Modern Day Elijah

According to Zucker, the Assemblies of Yahweh are referred to as modern-day Elijah. A term derived from Malachi 4 and Matthew 17:11 where it says:

4 "Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. 5 "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of Yahweh comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse." [SSBE]

Since EliYah means “My El is Yahweh”, it is thought Modern Day Elijah must be preaching a message symbolic to his name. The Assemblies of Yahweh are one of very few religions (if any) that place emphasis on worshiping Yahweh through Bible Law (Torah) and therefore have assumed this title. See notable book entitled “The Memorial Name – Yahweh” published by the Assemblies of Yahweh, edited by Jacob O. Meyer, chapter 12 (pp. 182 – 183).

Before the end of this age, Yahweh has promised to send “EliYah”. This name in Hebrew signifies, My Mighty One is Yahweh. The Assemblies of Yahweh is today preaching that our Mighty One is Yahweh. Israel has gone far from the pathway Yahweh told them to walk. Will you return to as Yahweh inspired Jeremiah to plead for us?...

Sacred Names: Yahweh and Yahshua.

The Assemblies of Yahweh use the Sacred Hebrew name(s) ‘Yahweh’ to address the Almighty and the ‘Yahshua’ to address the Messiah. By using the Hebraic forms the Assemblies of Yahweh hope to please Yahweh in a pure speech and a pure tongue, in what can only be described as a genuine effort to establish unadulterated, pure worship. 'Jesus', - well known by scholars to not have been the name of the Messiah - is ‘restored’ by the Hebrew name 'Yahshua'. Coincidently, Yahshua means ‘Yahweh is salvation’, therefore harmonizes well with passages such as John 5:43, Acts 4:12 and Hebrews 2:12. Still,' Yehshua' remains the most popular alternative. The AOY argue that “‘Yeh’shu'a” is a mistranslation, based on the fact that “Yeh” was used as a substitute for “Yah” by the Jews at certain times in history.

Yahweh was undisputedly the name of the Biblical Mighty One - the Elohim of the Jews -according to many sources, including the New Bible Dictionary; Encyclopedia Judaica; Vol. 7, James Moffatt in ‘A New Translation of the Bible’; Seventh Day Adventist Bible Commentary; Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. 9 and Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition. Regardless, the Name is replaced by substitutes “God”,”Lord”, “Adonai” and other titles in Christianity and Judaism, and also replaced by other more modern forms such as Jehovah and Yahovah. All these other names, the Assemblies of Yahweh claim, are just another ploy to prevent people from obtaining the truth.
